We went to do our part to ensure that the experience of transitioning to a new home is enjoyable for you and your new CaliMaine Coon kitten.
Once kittens arrive, we post a new slideshow on the web site each week so you can watch the kittens grow up.
At any time, we encourage you to email or call us to introduce yourselves, ask any questions you may have, and even set up a time to visit our CaliMaine cattery. When you visit, you are welcome to interact with all of our cats and observe the conditions under which our cats are raised.

As kittens approach eight weeks of age, we will select a date and time when prospective new owners can start calling us to make appointments for visiting and making kitten selections. At that point, the kittens will have just received their first round of vaccinations, so they are ready for visitors. You will be seeing the kittens at an age when their individual look and personality are just starting to be discernable.
Is there a waiting list?
We do not maintain a waiting list. Kitten selections are first-come, first-served. The first person to call for an appointment gets the first choice of an appointment time.
Our cats become members of our family, and we are very concerned about where they are placed. When you visit, we interview prospective new owners and observe how our cats react to you and your family members. We ask that parents bring their children to ensure there is a good match between the cat and all of its prospective new family members.
Assuming we feel that we have successfully matched a kitten to your expectations, kittens are committed in the order of the appointments. We require a deposit at the time you reserve your kitten and do not accept deposits in advance.
So, as that eighth week approaches, you'll want to stay in touch with us (by email or by clicking on the main Kittens page) to learn when we will start setting appointments for kitten selections.
When can your kitten come home with you?
We release our kittens once they have reached a level of confidence that will make them loving, playful companions for their new owners and enable them to adapt well to a new home, which is usually at 12 to 14 weeks of age. We want to do our part to ensure a transition to our kittens' new homes that is enjoyable for you and your cat.
Right, new owners are encouraged to make regular visits to play with their kitties between the time the kittens have been selected and the time at which the kittens are ready to go home with them. If you are planning a trip shortly after the kitten is due to come home, we will gladly hold your kitten until you return to minimize stress to the kitten.
When you pick up your kitten, we will both sign a written contract containing terms and conditions intended to protect the well being of the kitten.
